P.S. 222 held its Inside Broadway performance on Thursday, February 16. This program is for second graders and funded by the New York City Council CASA Initiative. This year’s show was titled “The Broadway Rewind” and featured songs such as It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing), Don’t Stop Believin’ and Dancing Queen. It was a wonderful learning experience for our students as they participated in the writing of the script and the learning of many songs. It was an extremely enjoyable and powerful performance witnessed by 80 family members.
We would like to thank Ms. Deidre Cutler, Inside Broadway Theater Teacher, for her guidance and direction with the children over 24 sessions culminating in this wonderful and relevant performance and Ms. Shehnaz Amlani, Teacher Assistant, for helping to coordinate the event along with the stage decorations.
