We are hosting Multicultural Night on Friday, March 31 from 4:00 – 5:30 pm. This is a great opportunity for parents to share their culture with the rest of the school community.
P.S. 222’s Multicultural Night is aimed at educating our students to respect other cultures and to celebrate the cultural diversity of the community of Jackson Heights. Conducting a cultural activity night is an important goal of our school. We are proud of the variety of cultural backgrounds our students have brought us. This evening will surely benefit our children and prepare them to be future global citizens.
Help us bring one or more aspects of your ethnic heritage to life for the students and families of our school community! We are looking for storytellers, musicians, dancers, artists and volunteers that are able to bring in a dish from their country.
As the date is rapidly approaching, please inform us of your availability for participation. We are hoping that you would be able to spend 3-5 minutes engaged in either one of the activities noted above. Consider going solo or assembling a group for your presentation. This is a great way to provide our students with first-hand knowledge of places around the world. Your involvement is also a great way for you to contribute to our school, which will tremendously enhance and impact on our students’ future.
Thank you in advance for your commitment! It’s an opportunity to be prideful and unified in our children’s achievements and to celebrate all the richness and benefits we derive from being such a diverse community.
